August was super busy for our family, but tons of fun. It was the first time in SO LONG that Nick wasn't in school and I totally got spoiled by having him with us so much! That has now officially ended because he started school again this week. Boo.
The first of the month brought friends and family to our home for Leyla's blessing. It was fun to show off our sweet baby girl to everyone, and Nick gave a very special blessing to his daughter. Her dress fit perfectly! If we had waited even one more week I don't think it would have fit her. The pink dress she is wearing in the last picture is my blessing dress.
Leyla also had her two month well baby visit and shots. She's doing great and is in the 75% for both height and weight which were:
Weight: 11 pounds 4 ounces
Height: 22 2/3 inches long
She is such a smily girl. Owen likes to lay on the ground beside her and sing her "Owen songs" which are basically odd sounds he puts together in a sing-song sort of way. Cute to watch...kind of annoyng to hear all the time!
We also made two trips to Utah. We first went down to go to a surprise birthday party for some of Nick's old friends. We also spent the day at the Gateway in Salt Lake going to the Discovery Center and playing in the fountains. The next weekend we were back down to attend the sealing of my aunt and uncle (Ben & Stacey) in the Bountiful Temple. It was fun being back there, we haven't been since our own sealing. We then headed down to Springville to spend some time with Murph & Wally (grandma and grandpa). So good to see them.
I'm sure September will be just as busy and exciting so stay tuned!

Wow that seems so long ago! Thank you for letting us be a part of those friends and family that hung with you! It’s always so fun at your house. Her day was a very special day, and your right, that daddy gave her a very special blessing. So thankful for all of you. I hope to see you again soon and I’m sure Leyla will have changed a ton!
